Briefing on reckless tax amendment

In November, Iowa voters will decide on an anti-democratic ballot question that would establish a two-thirds “supermajority” in each chamber of the Legislature to pass corporate or personal income tax increases. In our polarized times, it would set a nearly insurmountable bar — virtually locking in recent tax cuts tilted to the rich that have spurred structural state budget deficits of over $1 billion a year.
